Indian PM says instability in neighbouring countries can affect security situation in India
NEW DELHI, May 4 (APP): Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh while expressing concern over instability in neighbouring countries said it can affect security situation in India. Addressing an election rally in Pehowa in Haryana state on Monday, Singh said “today, there is lack of peace and stability in our neighbouring nations, be it Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It can also affect security situation in our country. “
He said the government will take all necessary measures to counter terrorism.
“We will continue to fight terror with hard work and patience and whatever steps are needed to tackle the scourge, we will take them. However, at the same time, we will also keep in mind that in our fight against terror, people from any particular religion or section are not unnecessarily harassed,” Singh said.
He claimed that Congress party is the only political organisation which can lead the nation effectively.
Meanwhile, the fourth phase of Lok Sabha polls will be held on May 7 and fifth on May 13.
