Two philanthropists donate money to disabled soldiers

Seva Vanitha Unit of Ministry of Defence, under its welfare program for needy war heroes has directed USD 1000 received from two Sri Lankan philanthropists living in the United States of America.

Two philanthropists Mr. Mahinda Wickramaratne, and Mr. G. Dharmawardane have donated USD 500 each to private T.M. Wimalasiri and private T.B. Jayalath Kumara of Sri Lanka Army Gajaba Regiment. The two war heroes are residents of Maradankadawala and Nachchuduwa in Anuradhapura respectively. Both the soldiers have lost their both legs during recent battles against LTTE terrorists.

The donation was made at the Ministry of Defence premises  . President of MOD Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa was also present at the occasion.
