Heavy security blanket is now covering the area of SLRC main office and the government announced a special holiday for SLRC people to meet the President Mahindha Rajapaksha.
However the  trade unions  of Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation has decided to call a strike today. According to the trade union sources, the decision has been taken as the President had failed to fulfill the five requests made by the SLRC employees with regard to the recent attacks on them.

Trade Unions highlight that the SLRC employees have been threatened ever since Minister Mervyn Silva and his supporters including few wanted criminals roamed the SLRC premises last December.
Meanwhile, the trade union arm of SLFP, Sri Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya says that it would not join the strike action since the President has given a time today for a discussion with the SLRC employees.
