Western Union Money transfer facilities at all post offices in Sri Lanka

 Minister of Postal Service, Mahinda Wijesekara today said that plans are being made to open a Western Union money transfer facility at every post office in Sri Lanka in the near future.

Addressing an opening ceremony of a new post office building at Gonuwela, the Minister noted that 25% of the income generated through this endeavour would be given to the postal department.

He also said that the steps are being taken to upgrade the postal department with modern technology.
