Robbed JVP vehicles tampered with

The Wimal Weerawansa faction of the JVP has complained to the police that a chemical substance has been introduced into the fuel tanks of two vehicles belonging to the party, which were hijacked by JVP parliamentarian Jayantha Wijesekara and some others, after police seized them in order to make the vehicles non functional.

The vehicles were used by JVP MP’s Piyasiri Wijenayake and Achala Jagoda who are supporting Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa.

Court made an order that the vehicles be released to the
registered owners and when they went to the police station to take them away they found that the vehicles would not start.

The vehicles are in the custody of Welikade police.

A spokesman for the Weerawansa faction said that the vehicles would be sent to the importers to restore their conditions.
