A number of political parties are to hold May Day rallies in a grand scale tomorrow.

The May Day rally of the United People’s Alliance will be held at the Mahaweli playground in Dehiattakandiya with the participation of allied parties and trade unions.

May Day Rally organizing committee Chairman of the People’s Alliance Minister Dalas Alahapperuma says the rally will be held in the eastern province as a respect to the heroic soldiers who liberated the area from the LTTE and to the working class in the province.

The United National Party is to conduct a religious event at the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya on the May Day instead of a rally. The JVP will hold the May day rally at Municipal Council grounds in Town Hall. The theme is to stand united against the separatism and imperialism.

Five leftist parties including Communist Party and Samasamaja Party is to hold their May Day rally at Shalika Grounds in Narahenpitya. Ceylon Workers’ Congress will conduct a rally in Hatton while Kandurata Peoples’ Front organizes the May Day rally in Bandarawela.
