UNP to table media freedom proposal before House

The United National Party is to table a special proposal before Parliament in the coming weeks for the protection of media freedom.

The party's General Secretary Tissa Attanayake told 'Lanka Dissent' that views and suggestions of media organizations and experts in the field would be welcome in this regard.

The UNP will seek their advice within the next few days before drafting the proposal, he added.
