Troops attack terror bunkers, LTTE body found - Welioya front

Troops operating in Welioya front attacked and captured 4 LTTE bunkers located in general area north of Kiriibawewa last morning, July 8. During the fierce gun battle sparked between troops and terrorists, 3 LTTE cadres was killed, intercepted radio communication confirmed. 2 more LTTE terrorists were also suffered injuries, sources further confirmed.

In a subsequent search operation conducted in the area troops found a body of an LTTE cadre killed in this battle. Two T-56 weapons, one radio communication set, an identification tag and a cyanide capsule were also found during this search operation.
