Government to bring normalcy in Jaffna District

The government is taking all steps to fulfill the day today needs of the Jaffna public in order to bring normalcy there.

Arrangements are being done to provide all goods at reasonable prices without scarcity during the festive season in the Jaffna peninsula. Goods were taken to Jaffna by 6 ships. These goods will be distributed by cooperatives and will be sold at the same price as in Colombo.

Container ships will be used for the transport of goods to Jaffna from January. To promote agriculture vegetable seeds, pesticides and all other things will be taken to Jaffna.

Cement and all other building materials have already been taken to Jaffna for construction works. Measures are being taken to solve the problems faced by the fishing folk. Talks between fishermen society and government representatives are being held to sort out their problems.
