Police had to be called in to pacify the two top executive officers of Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation, who had abused each other in filthy language in the premises this morning (Aug. 02nd), a senior SLRC official

said.Corporation security had been unable to calm down Chairman Dr. Ariyaratne Athugala and Director General Sisira Kotelawala, who had gone to the room of the former to as why he had been sidelined in recently activities of the institution, including coverage of the SAARC summit.

After SLRC staff had heard heated verbal exchanges coming from the room, they had notified the security, who had in turn, called in the police.

The two top officers have been at loggerheads for some time, as the chairman and his close associates have been running the institution without the involvement of the director general and the director on international affairs, the SLRC official added.
