image Following the warning by the intelligence division that there are possibilities of LTTE men joining with the refugees to India, the Indian Coast Guard has intensified its patrol using the Hoover craft. The Tigers may choose to intrude into Tamil Nadu territory, following the destruction of the LTTE ships by Sri Lankan navy and therefore the necessity for intensified monitoring, said the sources of the intelligence division.

The Indian Coast Guard is patrolling the sea in the Hoover craft and also by helicopters. The Coast Guard took media personnel also in the Hoover craft along the international borders of India, said the Tamil Nadu sources.

The Indian Coast Guard is conducting 24 hours surveillance in the Gulf of Mannar as it is a sensitive location for India, the sources said.
