President arrives in New York for UN sessions

image President Rajapakse and his delegation are now in New York to participate in the UN sessions.
They reached the New York city at 12.10 am today, Sri Lanka time, to participate in the 62nd session of the UN General Assembly. Sri Lanka’s Resident Representative at the UN Prasad Karityawasam and the staff greeted the President and the First Lady on arrival at the John F. Kennedy International Airport. Two Sri Lanka children presented them with bouquets of flowers. The President was then conducted to the hotel where state leaders arriving for the UN sessions will put up. The Sri Lanka deputation includes Ministers Rohitha Bogollagama, Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, C.B. Ratnayake and T.B. Ekenayake, President’s Secretary Lalith Weratunge and Foreign Secretary Dr. Palitha Kohona. The President is scheduled to address the UN sessions on Tuesday, the inaugural day. State leaders are now arriving in New York to attend the sessions.
