India has made a request to Sri Lanka once again to hand over Prabakaran, said the Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon.

Prabakaran was found guilty in the assassination case of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. India has made the same request several times. At the same time Janatha Party Leader Subramaniam Swamy has written to the Indian Foreign Minister to state the Indian stance on the LTTE.

Responding to his letter, Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon has stated that there is no change in the Indian stance on the ban on LTTE and we have requested Sri Lanka to hand over Prabakaran.

Sri Lanka has responded to the Indian request that Prabakaran is a wanted person to Sri Lanka also and we will take your request into consideration if he was taken into custody.
