MIA soldier not yet released; 11 bodies of SL troops returned

The Missing In Action soldier R.M.S. Ratnayake of Gemunu regiment is still under the seize of the terrorists. LTTE handed over the bodies of the eleven dead soldiers to the International Red Cross yesterday, Media Centre for National Security revealed.

Army is in the process of getting the soldier released and has informed the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission. SLMM spokesperson Thoffinur Ommarsan told the government Official website that if the LTTE need their assistance in releasing the soldier they are willing to get involved. He expressed the hope that he will be able to give more information on their process later.

According to Military sources, during the clashes in East over fifty LTTE cardres died. Troops recovered twelve dead bodies of terrorists from the Mankerni Forward Defense Line and they were handed over to the International Red Cross, Brigadier Prasad Samarasinghe told the Government Official website.
