The government that came to power with the public mandate cannot act arbitrarily, like Prabakaran, said Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake in a function held to introduce the emblem of the Amarasiri Children’s Home of Biyagama which fosters the orphans, at the Temple Trees.

The Tamils are living in fear of the terrorist movement that pretends to be the sole representative of the Tamils. The Tamils are under going immense difficulties. The terrorist, who have taken the law to their hands and are threatening the people with weapons, should be defeated.

The armed group made 32 attacks on the government forces but we were restrained for the peace. Can we be patient even after the closure of Mavilaru? Can we be onlookers when our forces are being attacked? We have responded to their attacks in the same way.

This response is not only over land but also through sea and air continuously. We are answerable to the public who gave us the mandate. Therefore, we are marching together the public to defeat the terrorism. We will continue this until they end attacking, he said further.
