US denounces the attack on the Defence Secretary

America vehemently condemned the suicide bomb attack made by the LTTE targeting the Defence Secretary, Gothabhaya Rajapakse at the Pithala Junction in Colombo Dharmapala Mawatha yesterday. US conveyed its heartfelt condolence to the two persons killed and 14 injured. The US urged the LTTE to end violence and return to the negotiation table.

At the same time British Premier Tony Blair has denounced this attack. He has passed this message to the British High Commission in Colombo over the phone.
