The 25-member crew of the Jordanian ship was released to the ICRC today by the LTTE. The LTTE pirates hijacked their ship, when their ship had developed some engine trouble in the Mullaithevu Sea, said the captain of the ship. The ship was loaded with 14,000 tones of rice and was headed to Durban in South Africa from Andhara in India. While the crew were engaged in repairing the ship the LTTE had forced the crew out and removed the anchor and let the ship drift closer, towards the Mullaithevu shore, said the Jordanian Ship Company, Salam International Trading And Transport Company representative, Al Thajani.
