No false statement on Anuradhapura attack
No false statement on Anuradhapura attack
The government released information with responsibility and no false statement was issued regarding the attack on the Anuradhapuram air force base.
After the attack a search operation was launched in the area, hence the accurate information could not released immediately, said the defense spokesman and Minister, Keheliya Rambukwella at the press conference held in the media centre for national security, yesterday.
We released the information at the press conference held at 11.00 a.m. from the information we had collected at 8.00 a.m. and we had made a note that the information could vary.
The full detail about the attack was released in the Parliament in a statement for the public by the Prime Minister, Ratnasiri Wickramanayake on the 24th of October.
We have no intention to hide or to issue a false statement, but as a responsible government we acted with responsibility. There is no truth in the allegations made by some parliamentarians and media that the government is hiding the truth.
All over the World, when a country’s sovereignty or the National Security is at stake, all the political parties including the opposition put the country’s security first before their political gains, but unfortunately only in Sri Lanka the opposition relishes and glorifies the success of a terrorist group and the defeat of the its own country, lamented a political observer.
