Forward proposal within 6 weeks

The United National Party will participate in the All Party Conference only if the government forwards a proposal within 6 weeks for the ethnic conflict.

The UNP representative for the All Party Conference, K.N. Choksy has written to the Chairman of A.P.C, Minister Prof. Tissa Vitharana in this regard. In the letter he has denoted the stresses made by the U.S., E.U., Japan and Norway of the importance of the oppositions participation to resolve the ethnic crises. The UNP has already submitted a proposal to decentralize powers at Provincial level.
