Dell appoints Softlogic Ltd as Authorised Distributor for consumer products in Sri Lanka

Dell Computers today announced the appointment of one of Sri Lanka’s leading information technology companies, Softlogic, as its Authorised Distributor for consumer products in Sri Lanka.

Softlogic, with its network of retailers across the country will strive to develop Dell's geographical reach in Sri Lanka. The agreement between the two companies adds a significant new dimension to Softlogic’s vast product and service portfolio addressing the rapidly growing consumer IT segment. Softlogic’s charter includes two-tier distribution of the broad range of Dell Inspiron, Studio, Studio XPS as well as Vostro notebooks and desktops, LCD monitors, projectors and other computer peripherals. “We believe our relationship is highly synergistic. Softlogic has an extensive retailer channel in Sri Lanka while Dell has an impressive range of high quality personal computer offerings for the market,” said Prasenjit Sarkar, Emerging Markets Director, South Asia Consumer, Dell Global BV (Singapore). Through Softlogic, Dell consumer products will now be available throughout Sri Lanka. Speaking on the new tie-up, Sarkar said, “Softlogic is one of Sri Lanka’s leading IT companies and is ideally positioned to establish a complete national presence for Dell consumer products. Together we are confident that Dell and Softlogic will collaborate to earn retailer and consumer confidence and market leadership.” “We are excited to be representing and working with Dell in Sri Lanka. We believe that this partnership will add a new dimension to our current consumer offerings.” said Roshan Rassool, Director / CEO of Softlogic. “Our proven distribution strength as well as pre and post-sales track record reinforce our commitment to our retailers. We have achieved this by consistently providing them with leading products and solutions in the market, thus opening up new business opportunities for them", he added. Mr. Rassool also presented Softlogic’s future plans on promoting Dell products in a comprehensive audio-visual presentation. Among the large gathering present at the signing of the agreement were also many representatives from several IT retailers in Sri Lanka.
