CEMS-USA (Conference & Exhibition Management Services Ltd) and CEMS-India, today announced a forthcoming three-in-one exhibition in Colombo focused entirely on the textile and apparel sectors and allied fields.

“Textech Sri Lanka 2010 International Expo” will

focus on Sri Lanka’s International Textile

Garment Technology and Machinery. The “4th

Dye+Chem Sri Lanka 2010 International Expo” will

be an exclusive exhibition on dyes and fine and

specialty chemicals, while the “Colombo

International Yarn & Fabric Show 2010” targets

not only the textile and apparel sector, but also

the entire export sector in Sri Lanka.

CEMS-USA and CEMS-India also announced the launch

of operations in Sri Lanka under the branding

CEMS-Lanka. With this launch Sri Lanka now joins

the CEMS international network with offices in

Bangladesh, China, India, Pakistan and ten other

Associate Offices around the world.

The three-in-one exhibitions will be held at the

SLECC in Colombo from March 04 to March 06 and

will be open to both trade and business visitors

from 10 am to 6.30 pm each day upon registration

at the venue. This mega exhibition has been

endorsed by the Sri Lanka Apparel Exporters’

Association (SLAEA) and Fabric and Apparel

Accessory Manufacturers Association (FAAMA).

Meherun N. Islam, President & Group Managing

Director of CEMS Global – USA & Asia Pacific said

that South Asia’s textile and apparel industry

occupies a top slot in the export sector. With

the great potential offered by this sector, CEMS

has been organising the Textech Expo for the past

decade with a view to further boosting exports.

“We’re happy to bring this international branded

exhibition to Sri Lanka as there is a need for

such an exhibition in this country. The latest

technology on show will open new vistas and

enable the local industry to update and upgrade

its technology to be on par with competitors in

the world market”.

She added that with constantly increasing

competition in the world market, Sri Lanka’s

industries can increase their share in foreign

markets, and, at the same time attract more

foreign investment in the country’s highly

potential industries such as the garment and

textile industries.

Exhibitors from nearly ten countries are billed

to participate in these three exhibitions which

will simultaneously target the entirety of Sri

Lanka’s business community. They will play a

pivotal role by assembling international

technology, machinery and material manufacturers

under a single roof in Colombo, to appraise the

local industry of the latest developments and

technology available.

Since its inception in 1992, CEMS has made a

significant presence as a multi-national

exhibition organiser in South and South East Asia

with operations in over six countries. CEMS

organises over 25 exhibitions per year covering

all important sectors of the trade and economy.

With its global headquarters in the USA, CEMS

carries out its activities from CEMS USA based in

New York and its offices around the world.
