Apply afresh next year for GSP + concession –EU

According to reports from the European High Commission sources, a fresh application has to be made to obtain the GSP + concession for next year.

There is a great possibility for SL losing the opportunity of securing the GSP + concession this year. The decision whether SL will get this concession or not, is be decided in the month of August.

7000 products including garments, ceramics, tea products and leather in SL are entitled to this concession. However, Central Bank Governor Ajith Cabraal, the Govt.'s economic pundit had stated, the loss of this concession will not be a bane to SL.
