Swiss journalist allowed to stay

The Sri Lankan government has allowed a Swiss Public Radio journalist to stay in the island.

 

Karin Wenger was previously ordered to leave the island by tomorrow (Feb. 01).

 

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has now revoked the cancellation of her visa, said the Department of Government Information.

 

The Swiss journalist has been in the country to cover the just concluded presidential polls.

 

According to AFP, she has been issued with media accreditation and her journalist visa is valid until February 17.
