Conspiracy To Take Over Tissa Pradeshiya Sabha

A conspiracy to take over Tissamaharama Pradeshiya Sabha in Hambantota District that is under the administration of the JVP on false charges and hand it over to the Local Government Commissioner has been launched by the present government.

The conspiracy was launched even before the presidential election as there had been obstructions for the functioning of the Pradeshiya Sabha. When the Pradeshiya Sabha had taken a decision not to allow any political event to be held at Debara Wewa esplanade, a rally of the President was held by force amidst protests from the council. Also, the secretary to the Pradeshiya Sabha has locked up the Pradeshiya Sabha building and has handed over the keys to the police. At present police has been deployed around Padeshiya Sabha building area.  

As the next step of the conspiracy it has been planned to oust the Chairman on false charges and hand over the administration of the council to the Vice Chairman or the Commissioner of Local Government.  This would be carried out soon says a very reliable source.
