Election related violence continuing

A total of 122 election related incidents of violence have been reported to the Police to date, DIG (Elections) Gamini Navaratna said.

Forty per cent of the incidents are connected to intra party clashes, he said. 

At least 60 persons have been arrested in this connection. 

The Police have also removed at least 50 per cent of elections posters that have been put up illegally, he added.
