Remanded Sri Lanka MP hospitalized

The remanded Sri Lanka parliamentarian, Sarana Gunawardena was hospitalized due to a health condition.


 

Police sources said that the Gampaha District MP was remanded till May 13 by the Attanagalla Magistrate on Wednesday.

He was produced before the Court by the Weeragula police after the MP surrendered on his own to the Police.

The MP was wanted for abducting a 12-year-old child of a political rival and holding the child for two hours before releasing him during the election campaign for the WPC polls.

The Attanagalla Magistrate has given the permission to hospitalize the suspect. He was admitted to the Ragama hospital.
