W.J.M. Lokubandara denies becoming SLFP member

Former speaker of parliament W.J.M. Lokubandara has denied reports that he has joined the SLFP.

Mr. Lokubandara has said that accompanied by his wife, he attended a function in Bandarawela yesterday (Feb. 20) for the induction of his son Uditha as the SLFP's organizer for Haputale.

The UNP strongman has stressed that neither his wife nor he obtained the party?s membership on the occasion.

Mr. Lokubandara has added that he would soon declare his political intentions to the country.
