Panchaudaya assigned to prepare the JVP Bureau

NFF sources said its leader Wimal Weerawansa [Panchaudaya] has been assigned by the government to form a special investigative unit called the JVP Bureau to closely monitor the actions of the JVP.

 

 

This is the first time a governing political party has formed a bureau to investigate in to the goings on in the JVP. In an earlier occasion, the CID formed a Che Guevara Bureau during the late 60s when Rohana Wijeweera was in the process of forming the JVP.

 

Sources said Weerawansa was in the process of getting on board several JVP supporters and members who had left the party in the last few years.

 

Weerawansa’s close confidantes say the he is engage din an operation to slam his former colleagues in the hope of securing a powerful position in the next government. It is learnt that a JVP leader who has threatened to reveal the self confessions handed in by Weerawansa before his defection from the party, is one of Weerawansa’s key targets in the operation.
