Government gives nominations to Arjuna’s brother to contest against him in Gampaha

The President has taken steps to give nominations to Arjuna Ranatunge’s younger brother Ruwan Ranatunge to contest against him in the Gampaha District. Arjuna is to contest the forthcoming general election under the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) led by General Sarath Fonseka.

The President who has managed to create divisions among political parties, religious organizations, civil organizations and families is now trying to create a rift between the Ranatunge brothers. In a separate incident, the President tried to create a rift between the Ranataunge brothers by removing Arjuna from Sri Lanka Cricket and appointing his brother Nishantha Ranatunge as the Secretary of the Cricket Interim Committee.
