Sri Lankans living in London held a demonstration opposite Parliament in London yesterday (22nd) demanding the release of Gen. Sarath Fonseka illegally arrested and being arbitrarily detained by the Rajapakse government.

The demonstrators protested against the undemocratic election process carried out by the Rajapakse government, illegal arrests, torture and also making journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda to disappear. The protestors also distributed leaflets explaining the attempt by the Rajapakse government to move on a dictatorial path.
The protestors and others gathered were addressed by Dharshana Hettiarchchi, Aravinda Mahanama, Dasithe Gamage and Amile Shanthe Wilegoda and all those present resolved to continue agitations until democracy is established in Sri Lanka.
