Champika-Dinesh in alliance to score more preferential votes against Wimal

A battle for the votes of the Sinhala Buddhist extremists in the Colombo District has intensified among UPFA candidates Champika Ranawaka, Dinesh Gunawardena and Wimal Weerawansa. In the face of the challenge posed by Wimal Weerawansa, Champika Ranawaka and Dinesh Gunawardena have decided to forge an alliance to campaign for votes in the District.

Dinesh has already commenced a joint propaganda campaign with Champika to gain the preferential votes and is to launch a separate joint campaign with Wimal as well.

  Minister Dinesh Gunawardena has given a land belonging to the Urban Development Authority in Makumbura, Homagama to Wimal to set up his election office.
