The High Court and the Commercial High Court in Colombo inquiring into the petitions filed by the JVP requesting an enjoining order against "Naththa wenuwata Aththta" (Truth instead of untruth) written by NFF leader Wimal Weerawansa had issued an order banning printing, distribution and selling of the book.

The JVP in its petitions stated that Weerawansa had written the book using material of minutes of its Central Committee meetings. The Courts decided that Weerawansa had stolen intellectual property of the JVP.

The petition filed by the NFF leader requesting the Supreme Court to nullify the decision given earlier was taken for inquiry today. However, the Supreme Court rejected the plea by the NFF leader. The petition was inquired before Supreme Court Judges Shirani Bandaranayake, Chandra Ekenayake and I.S. Iman.

Thus, the decision by the High Court and the Commercial High Court was confirmed by the Supreme Court. The NFF leader had used the material he had stolen from minutes of Central Committee meetings of the JVP while he was a member of the JVP in writing his book. The decision regarding his petition reconfirmed that he has stolen intellectual property of the JVP.
