SLPA Chairman ignores Elections Commissioner’s orders
The All Ceylon Port Workers Union says that the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) Chairman has ignored a written directive issued by the Elections Commissioner to immediately stop the transfers that have been made as a result of political victimization.
The Elections Commissioner had sent this written directive through letter dated February 28, 2010 following a complaint made by the trade union.
The union had also informed the Elections Commissioner that SLPA property and workers were used in violation to all election laws during the Presidential election campaign.
