Sajith tells Reforms Committee he would move out from the battle for UNP leadership

Parliamentarian Sajith Premadasa has told members of the Reforms Committee that he accepted the organization structure presented by the committee and the he did not want to fight for the party leadership at this juncture, sources from Opposition Leader’s Office at Cambridge Place said.

 

 

Sajith had made this comment when several members of the Reforms Committee met at the party’s Colombo East organizer Bodhi Ranasinghe’s residence eon Tuesday (8). 

 

Reforms Committee Chairman Joseph Michael Perera and parliamentarian Kabir Hashim had   been present at the meeting.

 

Before meeting with the Reforms Committee members, Sajith had met with several parliamentarians at the same residence and had explained his stance. The parliamentarians however had criticized Sajith’s decision to abandon the struggle to oust Ranil Wickremesinghe from the party’s leadership.
