Wimal opens fast unto death in front of UN office

NFF leader Wimal Weerawansa has begun a fast unto death opposite the UN office a short while back.

He said until the demand of withdrawing the panel of experts to probe alleged war crimes is met he would continue the fast. 

"This is not a joke. I will continue the fast until the UN Sect General Ban Ki-moon responds to our demand and withdraws the panel", Weerawasna told reporters before commencing the fast. 

He said that if the panel is not withdrawn it will end up as a War Crimes Tribunal.
