UNP decides to contest EP polls

The United National Party plans to contest forthcoming Eastern Province Election .Media Spokesman Gayantha Karunathilaka says the government must disarm militatnt groups and reinstate the STF and invite foreign observers.
He said the UNP Working Committee today unanimously approved the party’s decision to contest the Eastern Provincial Council Election to be held on May 10. They also appointed a nomination board to coordinate the Eastern Provincial Council Election.
