JVP Central Committee will meet in this month to discuss three major issues

Three major political issues will be discussed at a special Central Committee meeting of the JVP in mid of this month. JVP sources say it would be a top level discussion .These major issues are to evaluate outcome of the Eastern Provincial Council ‘s election , Annual General meeting of the  JVP and discuss actions against Wimal Weerawansa and his loyalists.
Earlier General Secretary of the party Tylwin Silva said the party would stern action against Wimal Weerawansa and his follower’s .The JVP dissidents said they decided to form a new political party with the help of independent parliamentarian and ex- JVP front liner Nandana Gunathilaka. Mentioning that the new party formed by the dissident JVP MPs and himself is not a party based on proletariats, MP Nandana Gunatillake told media that it was not a carbon copy of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna. Speaking to media he said that the new political movement will however, follow the original strategies of the JVP, formed by Rohana Wijeweera.The party’s doors will be open to anyone who is patriotic and progressive regardless of class, opening up opportunity for open dialogue, MP Gunatillake added.    
Mentioning that the new political movement will be registered with the Elections Commissioner after May 10th, Gunatillake added that the party constitution will be formulated in a way that allows even the officials of the grassroots level to be elected by vote. Discussions are underway to decide on a name, colour and logo for the new political movement he said, adding that the party leader will be revealed in the near future. 
The annual General meeting of the JVP will be held on 27th of this month in Colombo  and plans to obtain views of the party members on forth coming activities of the party.
Speaking to media a spokesman of the JVP said the JVP has a fair vote bank in Trincomalee and Digamadulla districts, but plans arte underway to increase their votes through grassroots level .According to the party sources the JVP has no strong votes in Batticaolo   district.
Meanwhile the JVP said it would form a new national political movement with the help of civil organizations soon. The political analysts said it would be similar to the National Patriotic Movement , but the party sources did not confirm their aims or future plans to setup this movement.
“We are now discussing with academics, civil organizations and interested parties and individuals to form this movement, said a JVP front liner and a parliamentarian who wished to remain anonymous.
