Two high command officials of the UNO are expected to arrive in Colombo to discuss the transport of essential items to Jaffna, with the government. Their arrival is as a response to the request made by President Mahinda Rajapakse. They will meet the Disaster Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe too. At the same time 18 thousand kilograms of milk powder for the children was air lifted to Jaffna yesterday.

1000 metric ton fuel was sent to Jaffna yesterday and more fuel will be sent by next week, said the Petroleum Minister AHM Fowzie.  300 passengers left for Jaffna by ship from Trincomalee yesterday.
