M.L.A.M. Hizbullah has promised the president that he would be ready to take oaths as Health Minister of the Eastern Province tomorrow (May 22nd), after the postponement of the event scheduled for this morning, sources at the Presidential Secretariat said.

The swearing-in of Mr. Hizbullah was put off after the president refused to add the education portfolio to his subjects, as requested.

The Muslim politician had then been promised several other portfolios, after which he had said that he would take oaths of office tomorrow.

Accordingly, Mr. Hizbullah will also be given the Muslim Affairs, Information Technology, Tertiary Education and Youth Affairs subjects.

Commenting on the President’s delaying of the swearing-in ceremony, SLMC leader Rauff Hakeem has told the media that Mr. Hizbullah was having a taste of his own medicine after deceiving the eastern Muslims at the May 10th polls.
