Alternate arrangement to A9 Road

Government has officially announced an alternate road for the Jaffna transport. The Kerativu- Jaffna Road through Poonagari - Sanguppiddy is the alternate route, revealed Minister Keheliya Rambukwella in the press conference held at the Defence Media Centre. In this alternate route too, Omanthai to Sanguppiddy is under the LTTE control. The media persons wanted to know if the LTTE would still be able to collect tax in this area. This plan was forwarded for the benefit of the passengers. There is about 500 meters of sea transport between Sanguppiddy and Kerativu. The LTTE cannot levy taxes like they did earlier, he said.
