1800 tons of diesel and 200 tons of petrol are being transported to Jaffna by the vessel MT Bawat, which was hired by the government for six months in order to transport fuel to Jaffna, said the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Marketing Manager Lalith Hettithanthri. This ship will be arriving at the Kankesanturai port tonight. At the same time the vessel Kelani is unloading 1,000 tons of diesel in the Kankesanturai port.

The vessel Dunhinda will sail towards Kankesanturai with 500 tons of kerosene oil the day after tomorrow. A stock of fuel for three months is being stored in Jaffna, he said further.
