Court orders to provide video tapes of pro-Fonseka demo to Police

Chief Magistrate Champa Janaki Rajaratna today directed television stations to release copies of the vedio recordings of last week's demonstration in Hulftsdorp inorder to identify the culprits who attacked the demonstrators.

The order followed a request from the Colombo Crime Division (CCD).

Last week the chief magistrate ordered the police to arrest the culprits involved in attacking the demonstraitors after Police eight persons involved in the demonstration.

Lawyers appearing for the suspects said that those attacking the demonstraitors were being shielded by the Police. Video clippings and phtographs were produced to prove the claim.
