Police Attack Panadura Agitation – 10 Arrested

The police attacked the agitation held at Panadura today protesting against bringing Gen. Sarath Fonseka illegally before a military tribunal and demanding the release of Gen. Fonseka. 10 people were arrested by the police says our reporter.

Three persons who were seriously injured in the police attack have been admitted to Panadura Hospital. A provincial journalist is among those who have been arrested says our reporter.

Our reporter says the police aimed tear gas and baton charged the protestors who had assembled to carry out a peaceful protest campaign.
