LTTE cadre surrendered to army

A LTTE cadre surrendered to the army check point of Uyilankulam – Mannar Road in Mannar yesterday at 6.15 a.m., the Information Centre for National Security said. He was forcibly taken by the LTTE and was under training at Kurakkandal area. The 26-year boy fled the LTTE during the training, he has revealed to the army.

At the same time, the LTTE launched an attack with small arms on the police and STF while they were jointly engaged in road patrolling at the 17 police division of Mannar west Periyakulam yesterday at 6.45 a.m. The army has repulsed the LTTE with retaliation, the information centre said further.
